Actually in some markets, for example the German one, Children's shows must not be interrupted by commercials. So if you want to sell your show there, it needs to be short.

Re: S1E02 - The Giant Bacteria

I've just found my recording of the first time this episode aired in Europe. As far as I can recall, this was actually the first episode shown here at all. And yes, it has the scene with the cow in it. And in this original airing there was only English and Spanish sound. Watching this, I think this ...

Re: Where have all the dubs gone?

Well here's the Swedish sound to "The Giant Bacteria". The start is in English and for some reason there's a bit of odd clicking even though I recorded it at -12dBFS.

Here's my take on it. Obviously it's animated. :)

If anybody has cool ideas for such panoramas, please post them.

Re: Where have all the dubs gone?

Well unlike DVDs the options for audio tracks are limited on consumer video cassettes. On VHS you theoretically have 2 longnitudal low quality tracks, which most consumer VCRs will mix into one, as well as 2 HiFi tracks which you can only access with better VCRs. So if you wanted to use them for sev...

Re: How & When Did You First See The Show?

It must have been on the afternoon of the first airing in Europe. There's been some marketing for it before on Cartoon Network Europe, so I set up my trusty little Grundig 2x4 Super from 1982 or so to record it while I was going to school. That tape still must be at my parents.

Where have all the dubs gone?

As you can see, SWATKats used to be shown on Cartoon Network in 4 languages, which was the most you could do without using special tricks. professional VCRs of that time typically only had 4 audio tracks. This is probably from a 1997-ish repeat. Those languages are English, French, Swedish and Spani...

Re: Titan A.E.

Ohh I should re visit that eventually. It was quite an odd movie coming from Don Bluth who was more known for movies like "The Secret of Nimh" or "An American Tail".

Re: There's another kat in town

Well we were the lucky generation with easy access to English language channels. This is much harder now.
