T-Bone Prototype Figure on eBay?

Postby Kooshmeister » Mon Dec 05, 2016 1:45 am

I noticed this sucker on eBay:

Image

It's listed as "SWAT KATS T-Bone 2 1/2" Collectible Figure" (you can find it here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181828736934?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT), but I've never seen it before.

It doesn't much resemble the actual produced figure of T-Bone, especially as the sculpt and articulation are different. So what's the story with this figure? The Buy it Now auction doesn't explain much about it beyond the fact it's T-Bone and that it is "Rare" and "Collectible." It seems the seller used a template for the description and just filled in the blanks with "T-Bone," "Chance Furlong," "SWAT Kats" and "Hanna-Barbera" where appropriate, considering some stuff in it doesn't make much sense, especially the bit that goes "Some paint wear on Figure." Paint? What paint?! :?

Anyway, the thing is a steal (Steel?) at $19.95 with free shipping.

I'm absolutely no expert on this, but I assume this is a non-official custom made figure, based on the pose you can see in this picture:

Especially the pouches attached to harness look a bit too asymetric for my taste in order to be something offical or to be a prototype. But I think it's a nice work nonetheless.

I guess you could write a few lines to the vendor in order to clarify if you like.

I'm pretty sure it's a children's meal toy from Carl's Jr. I've never gotten them myself but the pictures I've seen of them weren't very well detailed, IE, only one color. They released one of a yellow Razor sitting in a purple ejector seat.

That must be it, then; I've seen the Carl's Jr. toys myself.

Katney's right. I did a little search and here is a post with different pictures of the toy. http://www.littlerubberguys.com/forums/ ... pic=164587

It's probably only a matter of time before you'll be able to 3D print something like that.

Given the opportunity, I'd 3-D print a decent Dr. Viper figure before I did either of the SWAT Kats.

Dr. Viper? Would you need a scale model? ;)

Just print all of them. You could probably even do Metallikat figures out of actual metal.

All of them, huh? I'd end up doing every single character from T-Bone to Enforcer Commando #45 and everyone in-between.
