Drawing... where to start?

Postby Rusakov » Fri Nov 03, 2017 1:21 pm

So I don't think I'll focus on programming right now (I'm beginning to think it's just not my thing) so I want to learn how to draw better.

Problem is there's so much out there in the form of practice strategies and what not that I'm not sure where to start.

I really need to start at the basics but my goal is to do a fictional comic cover, so anatomy would come after that. Does anyone have any techniques or sources of learning they suggest for either or both?

I had a topic about this for people who wanted to participate in the art contest but didn't know how to start.

Do you have any ideas in mind for the cover? You can look at refrinces and break it down using the techniques I posted

I always found that “How to Draw....” books were always helpful. You can find them online. If it’s how to draw comics... I learned from “How to draw comics the Marvel Way”. Then I just discovered my own ways of doing things and learned my own style. And then just used photography or other art for pose references and such.

Also as I’m sure you have heard before, practice every single day. There is hardly a day goes by that I don’t draw. And if there is ... then there was an obstacle that got in my way that prevented me from drawing that day.
