Repair Specialization?
Do you think that when working in the garage, that Chance and Jake each have their own parts of the cars they focus on? I can see Chance being a body and engine Kat myself. While Jake handles the computer and electrical side of the repairs.

You make a good point, I hadn't thought about that before! 
Chance being better at lifting engines and transmissions anyway. Jake's build would inhibit him from doing them as easily... unless they had the special equipment. ( Jake could build it if he wanted. )
Jake's smaller hands would make the wiring easier too. Lots of tight spots.
