Iconic Scenes
When you think back on the show, are there any specific scenes / stills that always stood out to you? I've always been partial to the scene in A Bright and Shiny Future where the Pastmaster is shown in the foreground and the Metallikats on the jumbotron monitor behind him (that entire sequence was really awesome from an animation/visual standpoint). I thought it really cemented the severity of the SWAT Kats' predicament.

Re: Iconic Scenes
TAZKAT I WAS JUST THINKING THAT
Second choice: This bit from Unlikely Alloys is one of the best "call to action" clips in the series. The animation sequence is just ingenious.
"Hang on! I'm gonna max this baby out!"

Re: Iconic Scenes
Okay... I'm just gonna double dip here and add some more moments I couldn't resist giffing from Unlikely Alloys, which is one of those episodes you'd really want the series to be remembered for.

This scene when Molly is analyzed, repaired, and reawakens was just... gorgeously done. I remember being like, what, 8 years old and seeing this animation sequence and it just struck me, her heavily shaded metallic eyelids groggily opening up, the timing and sharp detail in that just screams quality, and really, REALLY stood out against other cartoons of its heyday.

The Metallikats are arguably the best iconic villains of the series. They have the most revealed backstory, defined personalities and motives, and on top of some of the best banter of the show, have a touching romance that isn't shoved down our throats or ostentaciously done. I adore that their "villain love story" was relevant to the plot in Unlikely Alloys without drowning us all in sap.

Re: Iconic Scenes
Once again I have to go against the grain and avoid pretty much anything from season two. Anyway, when you say iconic, I take it to mean you mean iconic to me personally, the images that cross my mind whenever I think of SWAT Kats, the scenes that have stuck with me for years, having burned themselves inexorably into my brain, even if they came from episodes that I missed on their initial run back in the 90s.

The reveal of Morbulus' extra eyes and the bit with the SWAT Kats and him looking at one another was the visual that first drew me into the show to begin with.

Harryhausen fan that I've been since I was a little kid, the obvious nods to the cyclopes in The 7th Voyage of Sinbad the show gave us delighted me to no end.

Hard Drive may not have been a terribly interesting or even original villain, but his electricity-based powers resulted in some pretty awesome visuals. I've always been fond of this bit where he's almost in ecstasy from all the digital information coursing through his body.

The gigantic Shard on the surface of the "frozen" diamond reservoir is another mental image that I was unable to shake years and years after seeing this episode. Chaos in Crystal is without doubt one of the first season's most visual distinctive episodes in terms of the imagery it bestows upon us.

Just the image of the mind-controlled people with insectoid eyeballs was quite chilling and never left my mind.

Even though he isn't really ever seen too clearly (at least not in any shots that actually flatter the concept), Octopus!Madkat was very memorable to me, being one of the series' most iconic creatures.

The villains all band together. This episode rocked my socks as a kid.
I'll choose some season two bits that remain iconic to me later.

Re: Iconic Scenes
Have to second you on MadKat. He's another fun villain to look at and watch his antics.
Another...

...that show of unquenchable solidarity from our favorite Kat Bros against that NICE, sunset backdrop.

Re: Iconic Scenes
Several, tho I don't have grabs or gifs handy. Here's a few that first come to mind.
Night of the Dark Kat where Feral was about to arrest the SKs. From there to Callie getting involved and especially the car chase. The line about Razor should keep the Turbokat running as smooth as Callie's car lol nicely done. Also later where Callie threw that money bag at DK.
Unlikely Alloys with the macro bots fighting XD total fun action scene!
The Deadly Pyramid where Feral took off with Manx. It was a thrilling moment watching him turn around and shoot out at the mummies like the total badarse he is. Well animated.

That was definitely one of Callie's best episodes:Felony wrote:Night of the Dark Kat where Feral was about to arrest the SKs. From there to Callie getting involved and especially the car chase. Just the dog fight ahem.... Cat fight hehe scene with the Turbokat and Megasaurus Rex made me a fan since day one. The show was a like a shot of adrenaline for me in the morning. Which helped since it was shown so early in the morning.
