Christian Tremblay, co-creator of SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron, shares the original artwork he and others made in the late 80s and early 90s that led to the creation of the original show, with comments about the show's 25th Anniversary, thanks to the fan base, and some comments about SWAT Kats Revolution.

Most of this has never been seen before, and is available for viewing exclusively here.

Interesting that T-Bone was originally "D-Day," and Viper had different hair and no legs.

Oooh! These are very interesting. I like seeing the creative process with logos and character designs. But one thing is for certain.

This version of Mayor Manx is so adorable! I wanna squish his cute kitty face.

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I'm also glad that they addressed some of the controversies surrounding the Kickstarter campaign. It wouldn't surprise me that producing a show is expensive and time-consuming.

Is Viper better with legs or without them?

He reminds me of a hippie or beatnick for some reason... probably the hair and build. Or hmm the more I look at him, he’s got the annoyed college professor look down.

This is my fav of the logo revisions.

I do hope they find use for the shelved Great Dragon.

As usual, MoDad has gone above and beyond to bring us humble fans such amazing treasures. Production sketches are my favorite. I love seeing out the character designs evolved from first concept to final product. We straight up would not have these without MoDad putting in the time and money to be the bridge between our beloved creators and the fans.

Thanks so much for the pics and for this video. I love watching it and now I'm going to run down and check out the rest of the sketches! CallieKissIcon2

I was hopping to see a bit more of revolution, but I think I'm sattisfied... TboneLaughCait

Anyway, it is a fun video and those sketches are really something. I have that need to make something with some of them XD
Also, it is good to know they are keeping Nimbus and the other unreleased villains in the "bank" for a possible appearance in the future.

Another thing that I found interesting is how they got closer to the comic style. I can see a lot of potential in the new show in that aspect and I hope the ambitious idea of becoming something big as Deadpool, Batman and other big entities gets real but i fear it at the same time. It could bring huge changes to the show as we know it and end very good, or very bad. Nothing between.

Let's see how everything goes for now and hope for the best to come! Getting into production is what matters now, we can worry about the aimings lates :3

Looks like a very early Morbulus, given the beard, ears and the fur collar; one picture that's missing from this big collection is another early design for him, when he was still called Occulus, and his outfit included a sheepskin fur collar on his flight suit.

It's interesting that despite the Tremblays' edict that the fur collar be kept, it was removed completely from his final design. Ditto the old-timey style aviator's cap.
