Forum Closing-Down in 2024

As the level of participation has significantly dropped and 2 of the 3 founders of the MegakatCity.com forum have since resigned over the years, I've reluctantly decided that this will be the last year for this location. From a functional standpoint this site has not aged well, and to upgrade everything is a task that I don't think will be worth the time and money to achieve, particularly as there are now many other venues via social media for fans to gather and coordinate from. This type of platform doesn't work well in today's online environment, and supporting it into the future will prove more difficult. I unfortunately will not be releasing the database to any third-parties who may express an interest in wanting to run this site themselves - I don't feel comfortable releasing what may be people's private data from their user profiles and PMs.

That's not to say that everything here will be deleted, but it will be archived in a non-editable fashion, meaning that users will no longer be able to login, check PMs, etc., so if you have anything you want to save make sure to do so before then.

So, this is just a heads-up, that after 2023 concludes this forum will be locked and archived.

Ample time to include anything pertaining to SWAT Kats' 30th Anniversary (should anything of note happen to occur - not guaranteed).

Official closing statements will be made in about 11 months.

People are welcome to explore other options if they want, but if a freeforums.net location is made it will not be part of SWATKATS.info, so anything pertaining to content/moderation will be run by someone else.

It's a pity that this forum is closing down, but it's not really a surprise considering the activity here lately. I guess every platform has its time and the time for a classic forum like this one seems to be over.

I like to thank the founders Poecat, Felony and MoDaD for providing a place for us where we could share art, stories as well as other projects and could have productive discussions about every aspect concerning SK. I think MoDaD should especially being thanked for keeping every thing up and running all these years.

I have this forum in good memory for the most part although there had been a few unnecessarily toxic moments, especially during the time after the Kickstarter event was completed and things got rather quiet around the Tremblay Brothers after that. But I guess such things happen on every forum and on every social media platform.

For me this forum was actually my starting place into the fandom, after watching it from the shadows as a guest for quite a while. I met some very nice people here and had some interesting discussions with them, that I really appreciate. I mostly disappeared back into the shadows again some time ago as I currently haven't any productive input I could provide to the fandom. But I'm still watching it from time to time. So just call my name on the Discord server if you want to summon me, but please be patient as I probably won't be summoned immediately.

Everything comes to its end, I guess... Then let me thank anyone who has taken part in that site and fandom in general. Without a random meme on reddit I wouldn't have discovered this niche pearl of animation.
