Burton the Spider

Post by Kooshmeister » Thu Dec 27, 2018 2:15 pm

I now own Burton, a.k.a. "Pinky," my new pink-footed tarantula, a surprise from my mother today because she knew I was still a little upset over my scorpion Richard's death. So far, he (?) is a greedy little booger, gobbling up three crickets in his little critter carrier. He seems very active and healthy, though, which is good. I'll need to clean out Richard's tank before putting Burton into it, though. (As well as change the name if I find out if "Burton" is a girl, heh.)

You have an awesome mom, my mom can't stand spiders. xD I'm sure Richard is eating lots of bugs in the terrarium in the sky.

And here's the furry cutie himself. Apologies in advance to arachnophobes.

I know for a fact T-Bone wouldn't like him, even though he seemed to have gotten over his bug phobia by Caverns of Horror. TboneSwearCait

Well, not long after completing his first molt, Burton the tarantula passed away late last night. I have no idea why. He seemed quite active after molting, but then became incredibly sluggish, not climbing the glass like he used to, and last night, when I went to put water in his dish, I noticed he wasn't moving at all. A gentle poke confirmed my worst fears. As with Richard before him, I left him overnight in the tank to see if he'd revive, but I just checked on him and he hasn't. Another dead pet. First Monty, then Scooter, then Richard and now Burton. I have bad luck with animals. RIP, my little furry buddy. Daddy'll miss you. RazHurt

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Koosh. Any time is too soon to say goodbye but at least your gave Burton all the love and happiness he could have in this life and while it hurts now, I hope soon the pain of having lost him gives way to the joy of having known him. You and Burton are in my thoughts.
